Picture Day: Picture day is tomorrow! Please make sure your child is well-groomed and wearing his or her school uniform.

Math Test: addition with three numbers , Subtraction with renaming ones within 1000.

We were talking about Earth’s seasons last week. They were encouraged to use different colors to make a picture, showing their feelings of a Fall. Then, they wrote fours sentences in Chinese to describe a Fall. I saw many unique and beautiful Fall imagination created by my kids!

My kids make me laugh every single week. Honestly, they do it every single day. I believe that it is one of the reasons why I love teaching. I have to share with you! They are so cute!

Here are some conversations:

Jacob: You did not wear your glasses, Shen Laoshi!

Me: Yes! I did not.

Class: Yeah!!!! (They were very cheerful!)

Me: why are you guys so happy?

Class: We are happy for you since you don’t need to wear glasses!

( OK, I think they really do not like my glasses.)

We were talking about the timeline of a person for a social study lesson .

Benjamin: How old are you, Shen Laoshi?

Me: Em……..

Girls: Do you get married?

Me: Em………

Class: You must get married since you are 32 years old! And you are in a Teacher High School!

( 32 years old? Teacher High School?)

I was showing a global picture for a science lesson.

Alyssa: Do any people live at the north pole?

Niko: Yes! Santa Claus lives there.

Class: Yes! Yes! Santa Claus lives there!

Me: OK!

( I bet they really get what they want from Santa Claus!)

Anwen: Shen Laoshi, you got a new pair of shoes!

Me: Yes! I like them. I think they are cute.

Girls: You have a good mom! She bought this nice pair of shoes for  you!

(I do have a great mom, but I buy shoes by myself now. HaHa)

Mandarin Writing:

We discussed the field trip of Revolution Food and introduced some words related their experience during the field trip. We also read a new book, ” The Days of a Week”. The children were involved to pick up one day from last week and to write a short paragraph about the day.

Math:

Addition with renaming ones, tens and hundreds within 1000. Next week, we will start addition with three numbers , Subtraction with renaming ones, tens and hundreds within 1000.

Next Friday Test:  Addition/Subtraction with renaming ones, tens and hundreds within 1000, addition of three numbers, word problems.


Weekly Math Test Tomorrow: Addition/Subtraction with Renaming and its application in Word Problem.

Chinese Dictation Tomorrow:

The children read a new book of Chinese Readers, My Pencil Box. They were involved into writing a short paragraph to describe their own pencil boxes.

Characters Test Next Friday:

We will have characters dictation test next Friday. The phrases we have learned will be dictated.

Last week,  we was learning Meanings of Addition and Subtraction and its application in Word Problem.

Next week, we will start to explore Addition/Subtraction with Renaming and its application in Word Problem.

We went to the Revolution Food today! Enjoyed the food and had a great time! My kids and me have learned a lot of  knowledge about food and food producing! Healthy Eating & Healthy Living!

We have almost completed our All about Me Project! Cheers!

To make a mobile, Students trace each template on three sheets of construction paper, cuts out the shapes, and folds them in half. They draw  a self-portrait on one side of each circle. Then, on the remaining shapes, they were writing  themselves, such as his birthday, age, favorite number, and height!
