We talked about the changes over time in everyday life. The students compared and contrasted life back then and now. They understood that people lived very differently 100 years ago than how we live today. They were asked to make their own wood room in 1864.
It is almost the end of the first semester. Time flies so fast! It is a great thing for me to see my kids learning and growing in class. I am teaching, but also learning from the kids. I have enjoyed every single day spending with your child. Again, thank you very much for all you have done for the Horse class! I really appreciate. I know we will have a wonderful second grade year!

- Math： continue Weight. We have learned Grams, Pounds & Ounces. We will start Multiplication & Division from next week.
- Friday Test: the basic concept of Multiplication
- Mandarin Writing: we had a Mandarin Writing Assessment this week. The students were asked to write a small story (5 to 8 sentences) according a picture of animals.
** First Semester Math Test : It will be a The First Semester Math Test on the Friday. Please help your child review. The content include: Addition & Subtraction with renaming, word problems, length & weight. Teacher Christina will read out the math questions in English for the whole class.
** First Semester Chinese Dictation Test: it will be on Wednesday. Please help your review the characters on the pink color paper which is attached with the homework packet. If your child need help with some characters, please circle them and bring back to me. Thank you!
