  • Characters: 想不想,長長的,快快樂樂,一紅一綠
  • Mandarin Writing:we have learned the using of quotation marks in Chinese writing.
  • Mandarin Reading:we have completed learning the first chapter She Likes Red in My First Chinese Readers. The students should be able to recite the selected two paragraphs.(a yellow color paper attached with homework packet)
  • Math Learning: We have learned measuring length in meters, centimeters, yards, feet and inches. We will start weight from next week.

Mandarin Writing:

We have read a new book of Chinese Reader series. The book is I am Thirsty. The students are involved in writing 3 to 5 sentences by using works: 我渴了( I am thirsty), 我喝了( I drink).
Mandarin Reading:

From last week, We have started My First Chinese Reader as the text book for Mandarin reading lesson. Three paragraphs have been learned in the first chapter. The students should have get a yellow color paper with the paragraphs to practice reading at home.
Math   

Length Measuring: Meter & Centimeters.
Next Friday Math Test: Addition & Subtraction within 1000, meter & centimeters measuring
* Chinese Dictionary

We have learned how to use PinYin to look up the characters in a Chinese dictionary in class to help their reading and writing. If you are think about getting a Chinese dictionary as a Christmas gift for your child which my mom used to do it for me, I recommend the dictionary we used in class. Pumpkin Patch Field Trip on Wednesday (10/24)

please pack a lunch for your child in a disposable bag or container. Each child will receive a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
 *Chinese Characters Dictation Test on Friday

You will find one pink color paper sheet in your child’s homework folder tomorrow. The pink color sheet have all the words which will be tested on Friday. Please help your child review the words. If your child need help with the words, please circle them and bring the sheet back. I will work with your child.

Math Test Tomorrow:

A Cumulative Test of Addition and Subtraction within 1000 and world problems.

* I will ask the children to take their tests (that have been graded) home and get a parent/guardian signature. Please ask your child to show you their grade.  Thank you very much!

Ruler for Math Learning:

We are learning length measuring. Please prepare a ruler with CM & INCH for your child at home for homework and practicing.

Mandarin Reading Practices:

One yellow color sheet with three Chinese passages should be put in your child’s homework folder for Mandarin Reading tomorrow. The passages have been learned in class. The students should read them aloud for three times. Please sign the sheet after your child complete reading and return to me on next Monday. Thank you.

We have almost completed the Unit of addition and subtraction within 1000. The Unit of Measuring will be started from next week. We will have a Cumulative Test of Addition and Subtraction Unit next Friday.
Math in English Section with Teacher Christina
From the week before the Fall Break, Teacher Christina comes to Horse Class every Thursday to conduct math learning activities in English for 30 minutes to help the students get familiar with math vocabulary in English.

 The book of Chinese Reader we read is My Classroom. The students were asked to use “有。。。有。。。還有。。。。”  in their paragraphs of writing about their own classroom.
